LITE Update

0

Construction is underway for LITE, the new Learning and Innovation Technology Environment, that will be based in the Lower Level of the Walsh Library at the Rose Hill campus.

LITE brings a much needed comprehensive, integrated learning commons to the Fordham community. It will provide collaborative and innovative work areas, a makerspace, a virtual reality space, and much more. LITE will enhance the synergy between technology and library services that will enable faculty and students to pursue their academic goals.

Contracts with the general contractor were signed in January and we expect the furnishings and technology to be in place by the end of the spring semester.

LITE will bring many benefits to the University community. For example, it will broaden the kinds of resources available to students and faculty for research and pedagogy. LITE should play a significant role in student retention and student success, attract new faculty who use technology in their teaching and research, and make Fordham more competitive with other institutions.
