IT Student Worker Lunch & Learn

0

On Wednesday, February 21, the Office of Information Technology organized a lively Lunch and Learn event, bringing together student workers and IT leaders and sparking both knowledge and camaraderie.

After students mingled together and enjoyed a fresh catered lunch, Anand Padmanabhan, VP & CIO, kicked off the event with a warm welcome and thanks to all our workers. We have over 100 student employees and are incredibly thankful for their outstanding contributions to IT.

Not only is IT enriched by our student workers, but our students also gain hands-on experience that prepares them for their future – perhaps even a career in IT.  To show them the endless possibilities that exist in information technology, our senior leadership team provided a brief overview of their roles within the IT department, offering valuable insights into the various verticals and opportunities.

Other IT staff then highlighted important tools for students like the Fordham Hub and the LITE center, before moving on to an interactive working session with our students. As a concluding segment, we opened the floor to students and invited them to share their tech concerns and pain points, facilitating a better understanding of their needs and challenges. As frontline ambassadors of IT, navigating the digital landscape both in their roles and studies, our student workers are valuable resources of feedback and insight.

Info Tech is immensely grateful for our diligent student workers, and we greatly enjoyed the opportunity to connect with everyone, participate in exciting conversations, and exchange knowledge and insights! The event was such a success that IT is looking forward to hosting even more gatherings to facilitate collaboration and support with our esteemed student-worker community.
