Live Q&A: Using the Technology in Fordham’s Classrooms

Periodically, Fordham IT’s ITAC staff offer a series of Live Q&As regarding the technology options in on-campus classrooms. Click here for times and to register.

Software for Teaching and Learning

Your Zoom and Blackboard Collaborate accounts enable synchronous teaching. It is important to login to your Fordham Zoom account with your Fordham credentials and use it with all University resources for all hybrid and remote learning courses. Contact IT Customer Care if you need assistance activating and using your Fordham Zoom account.

Apporto, the virtual computer lab, provides access to software applications normally found in a campus computer lab or classroom. The Apporto web page lists the software currently available through this application.

Panopto (fordham.hosted.panopto.com) is a screen and lecture capture tool that records, close captions, indexes, and archives your class for asynchronous learning. It integrates with Zoom and Blackboard. Documentation and workshops for using Panopto will be available soon.

“Preparing to Teach in a Flexible Hybrid Model” A hybrid course with opportunities to practice using online tools. The self-enroll class is offered in Blackboard, but if you need help accessing it, email Steve D’Agustino.

Learning at a Distance A blog with a series of short videos and links for teaching with technology.

Twice Over A podcast hosted by Anne Fernald and Steve D’Agustino that spotlights Fordham instructors discussing the impacts of the current situation and effective instructional practices.

The Blackboard Classroom Video demonstrates a new, streamlined approach for creating your Blackboard course.
