Here’s to how to ensure that only invited participants enter your meetings and classes on Zoom.
Enable Waiting Rooms
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal Fordham.zoom.us.
- In the navigation panel, click Settings.
- Click the Meeting tab.
- Under Security, verify that the Waiting Room is enabled.
- If the setting is disabled, click the toggle to enable it. If a verification dialog displays, click Turn On to verify the change.
- Click Edit Options to specify Waiting Room options.
Enable or disable “only authenticated users can join meetings”
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal: Fordham.zoom.us.
- In the navigation menu, click Settings.
- Click the Meeting tab.
- Under Security, click the the toggle “only authenticated users can join meetings” to enable or disable. (Note: Authenticated users include anyone who is signed into Zoom, whether or not they’re using a Fordham Zoom account.)
- If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
Suspending Participants
If someone disrupts your meeting, you can immediately suspend all participant activities and lock your meeting so no one else can join. If you can identify the disrupter, you can eject that participant from the meeting and the Zoom security team will be notified. Instructions on how to suspend a participant and notify the Zoom Trust and Safety team.
