Dr. Nicole Zeidan, Assistant Director of Emerging EdTech, was recently invited to participate in a faculty panel hosted by @FordhamGSE titled AI in Education - Threat or Opportunity? As an emerging edtech professional, Dr. Zeidan pays particular attention to the digital divide within tech and shared her insights with the panel. Not everyone has equal access to AI, the internet, and tech devices notes Dr. Zeidan. This became especially apparent during the pandemic when work and learning turned entirely to remote options. Moreover, AI is prone to biases. By nature of its construction, algorithms can reflect and reinforce biases that harm marginalized groups.
