EdTech Essentials:  Quick Charts Using Google Sheets

If you ever need a quick chart to present data that you’ve amassed, Google Sheets is your friend.

It doesn’t matter where your data comes from, or is currently located, simply open Google Sheets and copy/paste whatever data you have:

If you go directly to the Charts icon/button on the button bar

you’ll see a rich number of options and choices to choose from and create a chart that works for you.  

However, there are times when the options are overwhelming and you just want a simple visualization.  In that case, it’s far easier to simply select the column that has the data you want to visualize (in the example below we’ve selected Teaching Effectiveness):

And click the Insert Chart button to get a quick chart that you can put into an email, presentation, paper, or Blackboard page:

It’s that simple!
