Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year’s Faculty Technology Day last week! From interactive sessions to meaningful conversations about AI, discernment, and community, it was a day filled with learning, laughter, and inspiration.
This Year’s Theme: Discernment in the Age of AI
At Faculty Technology Day, we gathered as a community of educators to reflect on what it means to teach with intention in a rapidly evolving digital world. Rooted in the Jesuit tradition, our conversations centered on how to integrate technology not just efficiently, but ethically and purposefully. Faculty shared inspiring strategies and raised bold questions about what it means to lead with clarity and conscience in today’s learning environments.
As artificial intelligence continues to shape higher education, many sessions asked us to consider its implications through the lens of discernment. Rather than focusing solely on the capabilities of AI tools, we asked deeper questions about their impact on relationships, equity, and the mission that guides our work. How can we make thoughtful choices that reflect our values? How might we remain open to innovation while staying grounded in care for the whole person?
This year’s event created space for critical dialogue, imagination, and reflection. Through keynote talks, panels, and hands-on sessions, we explored how to be more than just users of technology but how to be stewards of its use in ways that align with our purpose. The conversations don’t end here. We hope this day sparks ongoing reflection about how we can shape the future of education with both courage and compassion.
Keynote Spotlight: Visions of a Revolution: Futures for Academia and AI

We were honored to welcome futurist and Georgetown University Senior Scholar Bryan Alexander as our keynote speaker. In his talk, Visions of a Revolution: Futures for Academia and AI, Bryan explored the transformative forces reshaping higher education. He discussed emerging technologies, demographic shifts, and the evolving role of artificial intelligence in academia.
Bryan emphasized the importance of proactive adaptation, encouraging educators to envision and prepare for multiple future scenarios. His insights provided a thought-provoking framework for considering how institutions can navigate change while staying true to their core missions.
Thank You!
Faculty Technology Day wouldn’t be possible without you, our engaged, curious, and passionate faculty. Thank you for bringing your whole selves to this event. We’re grateful for the questions you raised, the stories you shared, and the ideas you sparked. Your presence, insights, and energy are what make this event so impactful. We can’t wait to continue the conversation.
