3. Faculty Technology Day
Join us on Tuesday, May 24, in the 12th Floor Lounge at Lincoln Center, for the best Faculty Technology Day ever! Our theme is Teaching Strategies in a Digital Age. Faculty-led workshops, demonstrations of new services for fall–including Cisco’s video conferencing system–discussion, plenty of food, a cocktail hour, and some splendid door prizes, make this an event not to be missed. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Jose Antonio Bowen, author of Teaching Naked and the bold new president of Baltimore’s Goucher College. More details coming soon–the dedicated URL will be fordham.edu/FTD (page under construction!)

4. Universal Printing
Universal printing is an integral component of Fordham University’s Enterprise Print initiative. We are now deploying Canon multifunction devices that print, scan, copy and fax. This initiative supports the University’s goals to be fiscally and environmentally responsible by reducing printing costs, waste, and power consumption.

Print drivers will be automatically installed on all University Windows computers that do not currently have the driver installed. You do not need to take any action, and if you already use universal printing, you will see no change. If you do not have universal printing, this installation will not impact your current printing process. It will, however, prepare you to use the Canon multifunction device in the future. Once your department is included in the program, you can print to any Canon device on any campus by selecting “FordhamSecurePrint” from your print dialog. Learn more about universal printing on this blog.

5. Faculty Software Requests for Fall
Submit your request for the software you’d like installed in the computer labs or smart classrooms for the fall 2016 semester to IT Customer Care at 718-817-3999 or by using their online request service, via the Tech Help tab (search for “software,” “smart classroom,” or “computer lab”).

Requests may be made for new applications, upgrades, special set ups, reconfigurations and/or additions to existing software. Proof of legal purchase and adequate licenses, or copies of the software, are required. An ITAC representative will contact you to work on the request.
